Forklift Truck(s)
(GENERAL INFORMATION) –
– also know as a lift truck/ fork truck / forklift – is described as an industrial machine used to transport various object for a short distance. Forklifts are rated for loads at a specified maximum weight and a specified in order to maintain a center of balance. An important fact to remember, Is that the majority of forklifts have “rear-wheel” steering. This correlates to an increase in maneuverability in tight cornering situations; however, this type of driving experience is the complete opposite of the more common vehicles in which people have grown accustomed. Another critical characteristic of the forklift is its instability. The forklift and load must be considered a unit with a continually varying center of gravity with every movement of the load. A forklift must never negotiate a turn at speed with a raised load, ( when neglecting the center of gravity combined with an increased speed) may combine to cause a disastrous tip-over accident. Thus every forklift is designed with a specific load limit. Forklifts are a key element of numerous industrial, warehouses and distribution centers THUS THEY ARE PROVIDED IN EITHER PNEUMATIC OR CUSHION. pNEUMATIC IS A TERM USED FOR THE TYPE OF TIRE WHICH, TYPICALLY, WILL BE USED OUTDOORS (GRAVEL, DIRT, ETC.) AND CUSHION IS A TERM FOR THE TYPE OF TIRE WHICH IS USED FOR INDOOR USE (PAVEMENT.) Forklifts have four different types of fuel sources. LPG – gasoline – Diesel – electric. Some fuel sources, such as diesel, are unsafe for indoor use while other, such as LPG and electric, forklifts are safe for indoor usage. Then are are some forklifts which have a dual fuel ability. (meaning they are able to run on both lpg and gasoline.)
